A Small Sharing, A Big Spark

A Small Sharing, A Big Spark

‘A book is a gift you can open again and again.

This evening was simple and sweet—just some music playing softly, my daughter beside me, and a few beautiful pictures of nature on the screen. In between songs and smiles, she started sharing about her day.

“You know, mummy… today my friend’s mom thanked me.”

I wondered why. Then she reminded me about the book she had lent her friend months ago—Fantastic Mr. Fox. What was meant to be a three-week loan had quietly turned into something much bigger. During those few months, her friend and family discovered the magic of Roald Dahl and ended up reading nearly 10–12 of his books together.

Her friend’s mother was so happy that she sent blessings and thanks. And in that small moment, it felt beautiful to realize how a simple act—sharing a book between friends—can spark a whole new habit of reading in someone’s life.

It gently reminded me of a favorite thought:

“There is no such thing as a child who hates to read; there are only children who have not found the right book.”
— Frank Serafini

Sometimes, all it takes is one book… and one friend willing to share it.
