It’s December.
For some, the month overflows with celebration, lights, laughter, and gratitude.
For others, it feels heavy—something to simply endure until the calendar turns.
If I’m honest, I don’t clearly know how this year truly was for me.
It held moments of strength and moments of silence, answers and unanswered prayers. But as the year closes, one thing feels certain:
For the coming year, I pray for more patience, courage, kindness, and gratefulness—whatever may come next.
The last few days of December carry a quiet invitation.
An invitation to pause.
To reflect—not to judge ourselves, but to understand ourselves.
And to set intentions—not as pressure, but as gentle direction.
Below are some reflective questions to help you review the past year and thoughtfully prepare for the next one.
1. Health
“Health is not just the absence of illness, but the presence of balance.”
How was my & my family physical and mental health this year?
Did I listen to my body or ignore its signals?
What habits helped me feel better?
What small change can I make next year to care for my health more consciously?
2. Finances
“Money is a tool; awareness is the real wealth.”
Was I mindful of my spending and saving?
Did financial stress affect my peace of mind?
What financial lesson did this year teach me?
What is one realistic financial intention for the coming year?
3. Emergency Preparedness
“Preparedness brings calm even in uncertainty.”
Was I emotionally or practically prepared for emergencies?
Do I have savings, insurance, or support systems in place?
What can I organize or secure better next year?
4. Family & Relationships
“Relationships don’t need perfection, they need presence.”
Did I spend meaningful time with my family?
Where did I show love well—and where could I improve?
Are there relationships that need healing or boundaries?
How can I nurture connection next year?
5. Workplace & Career
“Growth often hides inside discomfort.”
What challenges did I face at work?
What skills or strengths did I discover in myself?
Did my work align with my values?
What do I want to improve or change professionally next year?
6. Personal Growth
“You are not the same person who started this year—and that is progress.”
How have I changed emotionally or mentally?
What fears did I face?
What habits or patterns do I want to release?
Who do I want to become next year?
7. Spiritual Growth
“Faith grows quietly, often unnoticed.”
Did I feel connected to God, nature, or my inner self?
What practices gave me peace?
where I am with the purpose of life?
How can I deepen & practice my spiritual connection next year?
8. New Skills & Learning
“Learning is a lifelong act of self-respect.”
What new skills did I try or learn?
What stopped me from learning more?
What skill do I wish to start or continue next year?
9. Education & Achievements
“Every effort counts, even when results are invisible.”
What academic or learning milestones did I reach?
Did I stopped after getting a job or certain age or certain life stages, why?
What did I struggle with?
How can I support my learning better next year?
10. Tasks Completed & Goals Met ✅
“Completion is also success.”
What goals did I finish this year?
What remained incomplete—and why?
Can I forgive myself for unfinished tasks?
What truly matters to carry forward?
so,
Reflection is not about regret.
Resolution is not about pressure.
It is about meeting yourself honestly—
with kindness for the past
and hope for the future.
May the coming year bring you not just achievements,
but peace, patience, courage, and gratitude—
one day, one step, one breath at a time.
Take care.
